Reading Intervention

"T.V. If kids are entertained by two letters, imagine the fun they'll have with twenty-six! Open your child's imagination. Open a book." - Author Unknown -

Mrs. Fett and Mrs. Kuker are the Reading Interventionists at Rock Run. They work with small groups of students to reinforce reading skills taught in the regular classroom. They work closely with the classroom teachers to best meet the needs of the students. Through conferencing, goal setting, and small group instruction, Mrs. Fett and Mrs. Kuker are able to target specific areas of improvement for each individual student. Students practice using word attack strategies to identify unknown words, perform multiple re-readings to build fluency, learn new vocabulary words, and work to build and strengthen their comprehension skills. The students learn and use a variety of strategies that help prepare them to succeed in the general education classroom and in the real world.
